Your Retreat Host and Teacher: Anita Dickinson
Anita has devoted decades of her life to meditative and yogic practices and teaching. Has logged thousands of hours on and off the meditation cushion and experienced over 150 days in residential (Noble Silence) retreat practice. She breathes life into this ancient wisdom practice by bringing it into every-day experiences and infusing it with mindful-playful movement from her 20+ yrs as a Yoga Teacher.
A Utah (criminal & family law) attorney-justice advocate. When not teaching/lawyering, you’ll find her conscientious stewarding the rural Utah farmland she and her partner dwell on, creating a community-run veggie/herb/orchard farm.

Travel/FAQ's
Q: Who may not be suited for this Retreat?
One who is not serious in their desire and determination to learn this practice and stay the entire timeframe. Also, persons experiencing serious mental health/emotional issues OR those not physically capable of following the DAILY schedule may not be suited to/may not be allowed to participate.
Q: Noble Silence (NS)?
ALL students (and staff) at the course observe "noble silence." Silence of body, speech and outward gestures. An agreement to refrain from communicating with co-meditators. You are free to contact the staff/Teacher about any questions/needs. Silence is observed for the first five (5) full days. Speech/outward communication will resume during the "daily life" and "integration" practice periods. NS is an essential component to a deep-dive experience and for your practice to flourish long-term. It is normal to be nervous about taking a vow of NS and you will be provided with ample information and Q&A period beforehand.
Q: Cell Phone Policy & Outside Communication?
By refraining from using cellphones/communication devices during the duration of the retreat we all contribute to creating a supportive environment of silence and simplicity for ALL retreat participants. The staff will give you instructions and heads-up prior to turn in phones at the beginning of the retreat. This also encourages and allows you and ALL participants to reap the benefits of wholehearted participation in the retreat.
If a member of your immediate family has an emergency medical condition or an emergency arises we will provide you with a number to give them to contact us if the situation requires your immediate notification.
Q: What is the age group? Are kids allowed?
No. This is an Adult/>18 years old retreat.
Q: Airport/Passport?
SLC, Utah (US) . Shuttle from SLC Airport to retreat location is included. If traveling from Out of Country/US, you will need a passport.
Q: Can I get a private room?
Solo/private rooms are available and will be assigned on a need basis - all beds are queen size.
Q: Can I come early / stay after?
Not at retreat facility but there are beautiful Mountains and National Parks in the nearby area for solo/extended travel. Check-in (4-6 pm Friday September 20) and Check-out (by 12:00 a.m. on the 24th) times for the Retreat are set and we ask that you adhere to them in order for our staff to keep on schedule and for the retreat to begin and end on time.
Q: What is the cancellation policy?
Payment in full is due to book your spot. All payments are 50% refundable up to 15 days before the event. Payments are not refundable 15 days before the event.
Q: Can I come for just a few days of the event?
We ask that you commit to attending the ENTIRE retreat as late arrival OR early departure can cause personal and group disruption/confusion. The rate is for the entire Retreat timeframe. You will pay the same whether you stay for all or a portion of the event if you leave early and once the retreat begins, participants will not be allowed entry (unless otherwise arranged).
Q: Will there be people who aren't part of our group there?
Nope. All women/co-meditator students and one female Staff person ;)
